In September of 1999 the City of Homer received jurisdiction over it's water supply- the Bridge Creek watershed. Most of the land within the watershed is privately owned, and two large parcels have plans of logging operations submitted to the State's Division of Forestry. Little logging activity has occurred yet, and the city is faced with developing regulations to protect its water supply. Subdivision and development are concerns.
