Lower Anchor River

Ar3.jpg (46135 bytes)

This site is located where the Old Sterling Highway bridge crosses the Anchor River.   Several state park campgrounds are across from and downstream of the site.   Fisherfolk visit the river in summer and fall to catch king and silver salmon, dolly varden and rainbow trout.  Evidence of frequent human use is apparent; fishing line and hooks hang from the trees and trash is commonly seen along the banks.
