Lower Deep Creek

This site is upstream of the Sterling Highway and several state park campgrounds in the town of Ninilchik.  The stream is wide here, with unvegetated gravel bars.  During high flows, large pieces of wood are washed up on the bars.  The floodplain is covered with wild roses, pushkey and ferns.  Fisherfolk, moose and river otters visit the site throughout the year.
