At this site Deep Creek runs through a wide deep valley. Just below the site, the stream takes a sharp turn, cutting into an abandoned terrace. The cut bank shows layers of silt and cobbles deposited by the stream thousands of years ago. Salmon and dolly varden are frequently observed at this site.
