Dipnetting season open on Kenai Peninsula Rivers. The familiar July sight of dipnets coming out of storage and schooling to begin their migration to the rivers is upon us. Wild Alaska salmon is one of my favorite reasons for living here.

The Municipality of Anchorage filed a lawsuit in federal court on July 5, 2011, challenging the Knik Arm Bridge across Knik Arm.
Day one was razor clams (Siliqua patula) at Whiskey Gulch just north of Anchor Point; day two was butter clams (Saxidomus giganteus )and littlenecks (Protothaca stamineais) in China Poot Bay on the south side of Kachemak Bay; and tonight, we’ll go for the often-overlooked softshell clam (Mya arenaria) on the north side of Kachemak Bay.
