Today five conservation groups filed suit against the Bush administration over an illegal delay in listing the Cook Inlet Beluga whale under the federal Endangered Species Act. The suit, filed in federal court in Washington, D.C. by the Center for Biological Diversity, Cook Inletkeeper, Natural Resources Defense Council, North Gulf Oceanic Society, and the Alaska Center for the Environment, seeks to compel the administration to immediately make a final listing determination for the beluga.
