Help Stop Exxon from Running our Foreign Policy

Exxon CEO Rex Tillerson had his first confirmation hearing for the Secretary of State position before the U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee on Wednesday, January 11.

Now it’s time to tell our Senators Lisa Murkowski & Dan Sullivan to oppose this reckless nomination.

Alaskans have a long history with Exxon.  More recently, we’ve learned Exxon knew about the link between fossil fuels and climate change almost 40 years ago and – under the guidance of Tillerson and others – actively worked to spread misinformation about it.

If Tillerson is confirmed, he will become our nation’s top diplomat, which means Big Oil would effectively control U.S. foreign policy. That’s a disaster for our planet.

Take 5 minutes to call your Senators:

Senator Lisa Murkowski

Anchorage: 907.271.3735; Mat Su Valley: 907.376.7665; Kenai: 907.283.5808; Washington, DC: 202.224.6665

Senator Dan Sullivan

Anchorage: 907.271.5915; Mat Su Valley: 907.357.9956; Kenai: 907.283.4000; Washington, DC: 202. 224.3004

It’s easy to feel overwhelmed right now. So what’s the best thing to do? Do SOMETHING! Make a couple calls today, and tell your friends too.
