Eve Downing

Eve was raised on Dena’ina lands in Sterling. She became involved with environmental activism in highschool once she saw how climate change was impacting her community. Eve became involved with Alaska Youth for Environmental Action to promote community resiliency and help young people become advocates for change. Eve is currently studying environmental policy and international relations at Northwestern University, and serves as an Arctic Youth Ambassador. Eve became involved with Cook Inletkeeper in 2018 as a volunteer, then as an intern, and now as a member of the board since 2020. Eve hopes to promote youth engagement in environmental issues, and support local change.
