RETAILER TAKE BACK PROGRAMS AVAILABLE TO RESIDENTS OF SOUTH-CENTRAL ALASKA

AMAZON Expand

Amazon offers a recycling program for electronic items including Amazon devices and selected accessories in working (trade in for a gift card) or not working condition (recycling). For more details and to create a free shipping label go to this link.

BEST BUY Expand

Best Buy offers a free recycling program that allows consumers to bring up to three pieces of unwanted electronic equipment per day to any participating location for recycling, no matter where they were purchased (most of the items are free, there is $25 fee for some). For more info about the recycling program click right here.  

Best Buy also offers a trade in program with mail back option that allows consumers to trade-in or recycle any qualifying consumer electronic product. If the item has a trade-in value, payment for the trade will be made via a Best Buy gift card. To learn more about the program click here. Customers can drop off old cell phones, rechargeable batteries, and ink-jet cartridges for free at kiosks located at Best Buy US retail stores. Customers that purchase a new phone may also return old phones by mail with a postage-paid envelope.

CALL2RECYCLE Expand

Customers can recycle their cell phones and rechargeable batteries at any of the participating Call2Recycle locations in North America. Visit the Call2Recycle website to find a drop off location near you.

CANON Expand

Canon allows U.S. customers to recycle their Canon products by ordering a shipping label online. Customers can recycle binoculars, camcorders, cameras, compact photograph printers, film, scanners and video equipment, scanners, inkjet printers, fax machines and multifunction all-in-one machines, fax machines, personal computer copiers and other large equipment. OFFICE DEPOT Expand

Pick up a “Tech Recycling Box” at an Office Depot store for $5, $10, or $15 depending on the size.  Fill the box with as many acceptable recycling items as will fit and leave it unsealed.  Bring it back to any Office Depot store for recycling. For list of accepted items go to their website.

TARGET Expand

Individuals can recycle MP3 players, cell phones and ink cartridges at their local Target store for free or select a trade in option and send in (free) your item and receive a Target gift card. For more info about Target trade in program click here.

WALMART Expand

Walmart offers a trade in program that provides customers with free FedEx shipping label to send in working or not working electronics. Click here  to learn more about the program.
