Foraging for Edible Nettles – June 2nd
June 2 @ 4:30 pm
Join us Tuesday June 2nd for a free workshop all about nettles! We will learn where, when, and how to forage them, then move into the kitchen for a tutorial on preparation and preservation. Nettles are rich in nutrients and contain twice as much calcium as milk! They are perfectly suited to replace imported foods and the fossil fuels required by their production and transportation.
We will meet at Karen Hornaday Park at 4:30 for a guided foraging trip, then reconvene at the Homer United Methodist Church at 5:30 for a delicious processing tutorial.
