Chloe Pleznac

Chloe was born and raised in the hills surrounding the headwaters of Tikahtnu. She spent her childhood running barefoot through the forest and along creek beds, swimming in Kachemak Bay, and helping her mother on the family farm. These experiences fostered an early respect for and devotion to Alaska’s nature and waterways, as well as an interest in food security, environmental economics & policy, and local natural history. She’s worked as a Communications Director in the Alaska State Legislature, a Morning Edition Host for NPR affiliate stations in Homer & Juneau, and as a print and freelance journalist. Chloe has a Bachelor of Arts in political science and history from the University of Alaska Anchorage and a Master of Public Administration from the University of Alaska Southeast. She is currently completing a Master of Arts in Arctic & Northern Studies at the University of Alaska Fairbanks, where she studies the intersection of Soviet agitprop and literature.
