David was raised in Soldotna and has a deep love for the rivers, lakes and streams of Yaghanen (“the good land” in the Kenai Peninsula) and their fishes. David graduated from Vanguard University and spent the majority of his career coordinating, managing and building programs that create positive change by prioritizing community health and wellness. Before joining Cook Inletkeeper in 2021, he spent over seven years building and supporting education and career development programs at the Kenaitze Indian. When not wielding a fly rod on a body of water, David has a fervent aspiration to facilitate lasting and meaningful connections between people and the extraordinary Cook Inlet watershed we live, work and play within.
